they only delayed facing the problems (ala 2000 and 2001) and increased the magnitude the eventual collapse. i can't prove it to you until it the bigger collapse happens, so we can discuss it when it does.

the damage is done during the bubble, not the aftermath. the aftermath is an effort to correct the damage done int he bubble.

similarly, the hangover isn't where the damage is done. the damage is done during the drinking binge. the hangover is there to help you get back to normal.

that's why one should know better than to blow bubbles - and it is why greenspan and bernanke will eventually go down as two of the most damaging people in world history.

go ahead and argue like people did in 1998-1999 when i said alan greenspan was evil and his policies would eventually collapse. they've come around and one told me, "you sure were right about greenspan being a bad guy." he thought i was crazy at the time i said b/c he was minting with the bernanke put.
