Maybe I'm anchoring. I live in a world of modeling, so maybe I am overstating its importance. However, I also think that you understate its importance and value. Hell, even the oil industry has invested tens of billions in geological modelling to increase the probability that they strike oil when they drill. Was that all wasted money too?
