Bill Clinton's economic plan passed 51 - 50 amidst Republican howling and screaming that it would plunge the nation into a another great depression. Instead it set off the longest economic expansion in history.

We're at a similar crossroads again. Pass meaningful health care reform by one vote - using reconciliation if necessary - and we may see a similar economic breakout. The uncertainty and ruinous cost of the current system is like a huge anchor to small businesses and individuals. Restore some sanity to the process and watch what happens.
