Well UK (Scotland, Ireland, Britain) is the windiest country in Europe. They have barely begun to tap wind.

Germany's long term plan is to electrify virtually all of their trains. One of my relatives in Germany is in charge of transportation planning at the Federal level and she told me last year that was one of their highest priorities to conserve energy.

Think about it this way.. They have to import every drop of diesel fuel they use. Not most of their electrons!
