just received a bill from un of penn, lab fees, ultrasound a few times (3) occasions, charge for room, draw blood, other misc. during my biopsy for thyroid.. invoice was $3400. amount approved by medicare $240.

I was processed in admitting, then waiting room assigned.. then i spent perhaps up to an hour in the room having ultrasound testing. first by tech person then by a doctor while another doctor did the biopsy.. Again later a second entry and ultra sound.

I find it hard to believe that un of penn could make any money to cover overhead of processing forms, billing, in addition cover cost of the facilities and process up to testing.

How senators could even think of moving medicare to age 55 and not fixed a broken system is beyond me. I can see more and more doctors, hospitals not accepting medicare.
