Health reform is absolutely needed, since SS/Medicare add 4.1
Trillion per year to US total liabilities, if using GAAP
accounting. Mostly it is medicare, and the system as it is
can't last.

That said, I have not followed the Health bill much at all to
say anything positive or negative about it. It appears most
of those who did follow it are negative about it. My impression
is also pessimistic, that it won't fix anything if not make
things worse. The government feels the "need to act", since
this is a huge problem for the budget and deficit in the long
run, but nothing constructive can be done about this huge
fiscal drain. So, they act, they must do "something" to address
the impossible problem, which, as expected, amounts to
nothing. Just like any government always does.
