You don't know what the bill is about. And neither do I.

Which is the problem. The only people, as of now, who really know what is in the bill are those who were in the room. The senators who will vote on it do not know what is in it.

We can only have the broadest of ideas as to what the bill contains. We know the "donut hole" was closed, for example -- which is the very thing that made Part D such a huge fiscal success. What it has done, in effect, is to eliminate the notion of risk management in favor of a government giveaway.

We know that millions of people will be forced to purchase "insurance" or pay a fine. That doesn't suggest risk management, although I don't quite know what it is.

And millions more will be added to already packed Medicaid roles, which bears NO RESEMBLANCE WHATSOEVER to risk management.

There are important changes to health insurance but as far as the text of the bill is known (and they've done a great job of hiding it from the American people, knowing full well there would be a revolt if the facts were disclosed) the most important provisions have nothing to do with insurance and everything to with expanding the scope of free and/or forced health care.
