Another viewpoint on West Virginia

wvcivilwar.com

One can always criticize Byrd for having identified with the KKK; however, Byrd renounced those views of his youth years ago------in that I believe Byrd is and was sincere.

You may dislike Byrd's views of his youth; however, there comes a time when one may also accept that people do change their early views.

Senator Byrd has been a champion for the people of West Virginia, a mountain state that has given much to society in terms of natural resources and human resources.

Byrd has figuratively brought the bacon home for West Virginians historically. For that one cannot condemn him-----that is what any good representative in the House or Senate should do for their constituents.

Rather than denigrate Byrd for past personal views----I suggest that it is more important to consider the present statements regarding the industries of West Virginia as to how the changes in accessing natural resources will be done if there are any changes to be made.
