The most frustrating aspect of this whole argument, and I have said this repeatedly, cutting carbon emissions is good for the environment and humans whether GW is real or not. So why fight it? Its crazy. The right takes on so many ridiculous positions but this one has to be near the top of the list.

I used to think that as well, that the goal of cutting CO2 output was a non-brainer. But the link between higher concentrations CO2 and subsequennt increases in global temperatures appears to be weak to non-existent.

As far as cutting carbon (dioxide) emmisions being good for the environment - depends what you mean by environment. If you mean plant life on the planet, plants like higher CO2 concentrations. It is their food.

IMO, the major incentive to reducing burning of fossil fuels is decrease in air (and subsequent water) pollution.
