What I'd rather see is for these charts to calculate mean temperature, as well as the upper and lower control limits (mean +/- 3 sigma), over the ice core sample time period, and then chart the temperature anomalies over that period of time to see if there is a warming trend. That would be a pretty good indicator of whether or not something crazy has started happening in the last century.

Look at the fourth chart which shows Greenland ice core temperatures over the last 10,000+ years. Looking only at the last 10,000 years and picking off equidistant points by eyeball, it appears the mean of the past 10,000 years in Greenland was about -30.6 and three sigma boundaries would be about -27.5 and -33.6. And we would be about -31.0 currently well within 3 sigma over that period.
