I don't see how that's meaningful. Of course the third world is very cheap. Their living standards are well below ours.


And so are the cost of their products which makes US manu. less competitive. A cheaper dollar coupled with the better quality of our products helps to level the playing field.

The weak dollar has many benefits and many drawbacks. Our ability to borrow (e.g. print money) is going away, and that's bad news especially as entitlement costs rise exponentially.

I don't see being able to borrow as a benefit. If in 2-3 years after national revenue has come back, I don't see Obama reducing the deficit and balancing the budget, then he will lose my vote.

The trade imbalance will level out, which is good news for manufacturing in America, but the unintended consequences are going to be a real b!tch.

I don't agree. I think we need to start learning to live within our means.
