Yes, the 98-09 period is warmer than the 19 year 79-98 year period. You can see what you want depending on what time frame you choose. Look at the 98-09 period - where's the warming trned there?

Actually it shows 2009 being normal yr for the 98-09 period. To be a new record it would need to be higher than any previous year.

Again, I can't see your chart.
