I had the honor, the privilege, and the pleasure of meeting the mother and grandmother of #24, high school qb, Narrows High School graduate, 2007 graduate of VT, who perished on April 16, 2007 by gunshot in the massacre on the Virginia Tech Campus.
Jarrett was 22 years old and a senior in civil engineering. Jarrett will always be remembered and appreciated. He was an outstanding young man cut down in the prime of his life and potential. Jarrett's grandmother asked us to continue to keep her and her family in our prayers.
To me Jarrett personifies the pride that an entire community feels for the one or two annual graduates who have worked hard to be accepted, enter and then graduate from VT.
