Jethro,

As far as I can tell, the 8 Thai issues which trade OTC are actual ADR's (the ones with five letter ticker symbols ending in 'Y'). You can get a complete list of these issues at
199.171.136.37

I also gather, from what Fred has written, that you can purchase shares directly on the SET if your broker is equipped for this. Evidently Schwab, Fidelity and Jack White can handle these sorts of orders. I do not know how the exchange between dollars and baht for such trades is handled...I wonder if the spreads on the currency exchange rate is wide enough to add a substantial premium to an issue's asking price?

I also do not know how wide the bid/ask spreads are on large cap stocks on the SET itself. I would guess that they are *substantially* wider than the bid/ask spreads of NYSE stocks.

I do know that in Thailand, exchange commissions are regulated at 0.5% (of the principal amount) per turn.

Hope this helps...
Aaron
