Actually, I am a bit amused by your failure to look at anything in way that even resembles even-handedness.

I suppose if I lived in Brazil, I would be wary of criticizing the government or police. Who knows, I might get a few loud knocks at my door and a pistol shot in the head if I were too vocal a critic.

Is that the problem, elmat? Are you are afraid of honestly criticizing your country because it might be dangerous for your to do so? Afraid of a death squad coming your way? The death squads are very active, getting Argentinian in nature.

If so, I understand. No need to explain further. A country with out of control military and police, as well as private death squads, is a very scary place in which to live, especially if you believe human rights should be respected.
