Siskinds Update:

Allen-Vanguard Corporation

On December 16, 2009 Allen-Vanguard received approval from the Ontario Superior Court of Justice for the Company's Plan of Arrangement and Reorganization. The Court’s order included a provision dismissing the proposed class action against Allen-Vanguard. The action against the other named defendants remains, although the Court’s order has the effect of limiting the potential recovery to the insurance coverage available to the remaining defendants.

We continue to encourage investors who purchased securities of Allen-Vanguard during the Class Period to complete the online information form below.

On October 9, 2009, Siskinds LLP filed a $80 million Class Action against Allen-Vanguard Corporation ("Allen-Vanguard”). Also named as defendants are certain of its current and former officers and directors.

The class action seeks damages relating to certain representations made by the defendants in regard to Allen-Vanguard’s acquisition of Med-Eng Systems Inc. The class action is brought on behalf of all persons and entities who acquired Allen-Vanguard securities from August 3, 2007 to September 12, 2009 (the "Class Period").
