Rumor: Google to Launch Chinese Android App Store Sohu IT, 12/23/09 At the "Mobile Application Developer Salon Round Three: Discussion on Trends for Android Applications," hosted on December 18 in Beijing by wireless-value added service provider Sohu (Nasdaq: SOHU), an industry source knowledgeable about Google's Android mobile OS in the China market revealed that a localized Chinese version of Google's "Android Market" app store would very likely be released on January 1, 2010. Many Android app developers also confirmed having heard such a rumor, but were unable give any confirmation regarding a release date. CEO Jin Yan of Beijing-based Android application developer eoeMobile said that his company had already released a third-party Android app market targeting Chinese users at www.eoemarket.com.
