I sent about 6 then gave up. I didn't feel like it this year, but all of the GITS know I care and that is what matters.

Ditto. Didn't send one this year but then most everyone I know understands why xmas card aren't going out.

The GITs are the best friends we could possibly hope for. We share our joys, hopes, wonders of our grandchildren and children, our sadnesses when they come and they overwhelm us, like when Smithee lost his brother-in-law, and everyone of us joined in the search.

We felt your heartbreak when your mom died, when your best friend died, when you broke your ankle, when you slipped on the ice, had a bad back that prevented you from doing what comes natural, when you lost your precious pet and couldn't rescue him and knew the loneliness of his sib.

We loved the pictures you shared of your travels; the places we haven't been. We've admired the beauty of family in places with grand monuments behind them. We've been awed by the grandness of our land that a few of us can portray in pix.

We've been touched by the heart carved in the lawn with a lawnmower by a husband to tell his wife of so many years that she's still the only one in his life and that he still loves her just as much as when he met her. And other husbands chimed in to echo that feeling.

We're a fierce bunch. We believe very powerfully in who we are, in our families, in our bonds, even in our differences. We love our country more than most, I believe, because all of us are willing to fight for it.

We hurt and pray desperately for those among us who are dealing with insurmountable challenges that they win their battles.

There are those who choose to be different but fit in so well because of their big hearts.

There are those who shoot first and don't have to ask questions later. Because, usually, they're right.

There are those lucky ones who travel all over and get to meet in 3D the rest of us.

And there are those we miss, those who only show up once in awhile. Most recently our golden friend from Texas, who we know will be back soon. And a couple others from Texas who had to deal with hurricanes and such.

We're a lucky bunch of people to have found each other and to be able to share such intimacies that in most cases wouldn't be possible.

I'm grateful and feel most blessed to know all of you.

I wish and pray for a happy, peaceful, healthful and wonderful Christmas and very prosperous New Year to all the GITs. Probably the best bunch anyone could find in cyberland.

And Sarkie, Sandintoes, Pattybob, Laz, and the rest I've missed because of the faulty synapses, we miss you.
