I would say that if your broker takes 3 weeks to approve your account for options, it is time you get a new broker. This should not take more than 1-2 days once the papers are signed and filled - if you were in a hurry, you could probably go to the office and sign them in person. It sounds like your broker is not taking your business seriously.
