Fortunately the move doesn't have any constitutional backing, or even the backing of long tradition like the filibuster, so it can probably be gotten around, waived, or repealed if the circumstances are ever favorable. Unfortunately, expansions of government tend to be tricky for political reasons, the one hope here is that since most of the taxes kick in right away and most of the spending doesn't start for three to five years, it might be possible to repeal or seriously modify the plan if its done soon enough, but some problematic parts kick in right away (such as the insurance companies being required to cover essentially everyone, insuring people after they already have conditions which the insurance company will have to pay for treatment of.)
