"I'm sympathetic to what they're trying to do. We will never save any money if folks scream "death panel" for every attempt at rationing, cable news picks it up, and congress votes to override. "

Every method of providing health care involves some kind of rationing. Insurance companies do it by a contract that sets out what they cover or don't cover.

The problem with the rationing in the health care bill is they are trying to hide what they are doing. Death Panels is an apt description. They will make decisions such as when you get mammagrams, or if certain medecines will be available that will result in the death of certain people.

I can't understand why they just won't disccuss what they are going to and how they intend to do it before they pass the law. But then again why should we expect honesty from them now. Never got it before.
