Most US gun owners are not violent - and I mean 97% or more. Many people buy guns as a precaution against violence and threats. Gun buying involves a background check, which screens out convicted criminals. Most guns will never be used to shoot at any person. In some ways, the wide gun ownership represents an INTOLERANCE of violence.
