The handsets are around $750 before any subsidies. Although I have seen the price for the telephone booth type fixed terminals, I can't remember what it is. Seems to me it was in the $2000 to $3000 range. It appears now that all this flap about pricing will be meaningless as long as Iridium is more expensive(even then demand may outstrip supply). There are plenty of paying customers without access----tens of millions at last count. G* could handle 4 million absolutely maxed out and without getting people pissed about quality of service. We may throw out numbers haphazardly on these boards, but the analysts have been going country to country and speaking with G* partners about the business thay have lined up---the estimates of demand from these sources have been rising, not falling. Don't worry about the #'s----"If Bernie builds it, they will come."
