GM old stock is drifting down to zero cents.

It has the accumulated losses by old GM that stockholders own. There are intrinsic value in tax loss carried over. Some one(new GM) may want to buy the tax loss?

The fact that GM could not dispose of their brands or factories means the old stock will have some residue value until the assets are gone.

What is happening is that most governments are paying for the factories to continue their operation to save jobs(US government too). GM receives the money and has to keep a separated account for the liquidating operations. Right now it is probably a messy book keeping job. But GM can make something out of the brands supported by local governments.

The old stock therefore will go up in value when governments put up the operating expenses?
