Mark, it's all in the mineral chemistry. MPV's proven pipe has been valued by de Beers at $1.0 billion +. They have 3 other diamondiferous pipes in the early stages of sampling and minibulks over the winter.

If and when Ashton's pipes are proven to be of high grade based on a per carat valuation, then it's blastoff, until that time it remains an extremely speculative stock and rather high priced to boot.

It's a matter of opinion but certainly with the number of pipes and targets they have, and the mere fact that they are diamondiferous, Ashton has a chance at something big, which is more than you can say for most of these plays.

On the other hand MPV is an out-and-out certainty as far as I'm concerned and new discoveries could really blow the lid off. I mentioned this on this thread several months ago to much derision and all de Beers has done since then is find 3 diamondiferous pipes on the MPV property, with one of the core samples coming up with a 1.54 carat gem.

The beauty of this is that management matters only to a certain extent. Ultimately the rocks either do or do not cooperate!
