The United Arab Emirates has signed a multi-billion dollar deal to construct nuclear power plants in the UAE, OPEC's 4th largest producer. Now THIS should make people laugh.

But the proverbial smoking gun on Peak Oil was revealed back in 2006, when, according to Reuters, six members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates) commissioned a study on the peaceful use of nuclear energy. 2006, the same year Mr. Pickens said he believed the world had reached Peak Oil.

It looks like our Arab friends thought so too.
