E, What I find interesting is a comment made by Kramer of the street.com when he was asked if he had any problem getting his personal trades executed on Tuesday. He hesitated and then admitted that he had no problems. He qualified this by saying that he pays higher commisions. His statement fortified my belief that there are better ways to trade as a daytrader then these discount brokers. So far Market Transparancy is the ticket and paying $10 or so per trade more is worth it if I get the price I want and fast executions.

I'll keep you up-to-date on my personal experiences with these various systems. In the meantime for everyone elses interest, Merril Lynch is compensating its traders for bad trades that may have happened this past Tuesday. Other brokers have instituted polices that make them responsible for problems if a trader can't get through to them within 5 minutes (even by phone). An investor advocate association recommended that if your broker will not compensate you, take them to arbitration.
