Hate to let myself get sucked into this, but you nailed a hot button of mine.

I'm sick of you Americans dissing everyone but yourselves. Do I have to say this again? Your country stinks to high heaven.

Many of us diss this country ourselves. And consider it childish at best and definitely very poor form when someone in their own glass house is lobbing boulders at ours.

Reminds me of a story from my past.

After working for a few years as a mechanic at a Honda/Kawasaki dealership, I ended up working at an import auto repair shop as its lead mechanic because the owner could tell I was a real mechanic and he needed one to help with the parts-changers that seemed to be all he could find.

One day some wonderful example of American automotive technology limped in and I told him I didn't want to work on it because not only did I lack the tools (everything I had was metric), but because "American cars are pieces of crap".

His reply, which I'll never forget, and I think you'd do well to consider might apply to more than cars:

"They're all pieces of crap, Bob. Foreign and domestic. That's why we're here."

Anyway, about 76% of us on SI live in the US and about 15% live in Canada. Most Canadians it's been my pleasure to have met would probably roll their eyes at seeing you go on and on publicly about just how thoroughly you detest this country as if it alone of all countries has no redeeming values. It's just bad form to keep yelling at the warlords to the south that they're nothing more than, well, a bunch of warlords to the south rather than keeping that among the many epithets used behind our backs.

Most people I know have better manners than that. Especially Canadians.

But in the same way not every American is a scam artist and not every Chinese businessman is incapable of defining "ethics" or "empathy" or surpressing laughter if he ever heard the "golden rule", not every Canuck has manners, eh?
