I assume you are referring to the US again..

Assuming makes an "Ass" out of you and me.

And unless you've got witness accounts of American children (pre-teen) being strapped with explosives and sent to blow themselves up in marketplaces, then you've proven once again you have a cognitive dysfunction.

As for my Butler, for his time he probably war quite correct. Those were times when international competition for resources and markets were more "imperialistic".

And that's not to say there isn't an economic motive for many US actions, but it's certainly not the primary motivation.

AND, if there is an economic interest in it for the US, then it can be LOGICALLY DEDUCED that other foreign governments HOLD THE SAME COMPETITIVE INTERESTS AND WILL SUPPORT INTERVENTION TO THEIR OWN BENEFIT.

So.. for every Mr. Smedley Butler, there was counterpart fighting for the other side. And it's usually only when these soldiers/fighters have gotten much older that they recognize their folly.

But y'know.. it doesn't matter if it's "folly" when someone is trying to kill you. Like I mentioned earlier, it's folly for the Militants to think they can conquer the US. But the cost in blood and treasure that will have to be paid in the future is far more than trying to counter and neutralize that belief now.

I say.. "no greater friend, no worse enemy" is the policy we need to apply. If you choose to be our friend, we will both prosper. If you choose to be my enemy, the only one who will prosper will be the victor.
