Thirdly, there are only two things that might have discovered the explosive on the guy's body. There is a thing called a wand....that you wave over someone's body.....but its not foolproof and it would take an hour or more to go through the population found on a jumbo jet....hardly practical. The other is a scanning machine which shows a person's body as if they were nude. Wrong. A nitro sniffer like they have everywhere in airport security would have sniffed it out on the spot. That's the 3. way you forgot, Ted. Those sniffers, however, are only used at random, or if somebody or his belongings somehow look suspicious - or if he has been profiled. I'm sure most of you guys have had (some of) your hand luggage 'sniffed' for nitro vapors. This guy didn't because he wasn't profiled, nor was he on a suspects list. Right? As for the shoes off policy, that is - or at least was - not enforced in European airports. /Taro
