We stream Netflix movies on our HDTV using a wireless laptop with HDMI. Works amazingly well. I expected some internet buffering and pixilation but the movies we have watched stream very well.
I do know you can also get hardware to stream Netflix, but we went the laptop route. Handy since we also watch lots of other video/movie/TV files on the HDTV set using the HDMI cable. For example a buddy loaned me some CDs with several seasons of 'The Practice' as .avi files. They look great on the TV using the laptop.

At this point, I'd probably drop cable if my better half would agree. But she's not ready to let it go, yet.
