Funny you post today. I liked the ideas behind this company and bought a small position 2-3 years ago. It's now even smaller - less than 1/2 percent! I'm thinking of putting SNMX into my 2010 charity contest portfolio so I just read a transcript of their most recent earnings call. Maybe I'll even increase my real holding. The recent call talks of a deal with Firmenich; a big manufacturer of flavors which it supplies to food companies. They paid Senomyx $10 million upfront, with a further $10m to be paid if and when they decide on a Senomyx molecule to commercialize as a sucrose enhancer. This year Firmenich asked for more time. Not a good thing, but they have paid $2m of the additional $10m in advance. The extra $2m is non-refundable and Firmintech now have until February to choose a molecule. It seems to me they that they are still serious. Also today, I posted to the Valuation some thoughts that are tangential to Senomyx. Message 26208873 Ashley
