Strategy as follows

I held some SRS from 300-600% higher than where it is now. For my taxes next year it would be beneficial to credit these losses against other realised gains. I still have some expectations of SRS to rise, but did not want to embrace full exposure (and also relearn the wash sale rule).

Instead I bought call options with varying months of expiry. The risk is the clock is working against me, but the monetary risk is much smaller than repurchasing the shares. The size of the position under control has also increased.
