LOL! I doubt they will do that. Maybe some highly paid specialists could survive such a cut, but not primary care docs. With overhead costs in the ballpark of 50%, this would mean a 42% cut in incomes - which aren't so big to begin with. They'll start shutting down in great numbers.

However, maybe that's what the Government wants. A sharp decline in availability of docs would be a good excuse for a takeover. At that point they'll invite docs to come back, offering them decent salaries if they work the public option.

Sounds like a conspiracy, but likely to become reality.... :)
