dpiX is the great white hope of the non-existent US LCD industry. They are hoping to carve a niche out in very high resolution LCD displays at a high price point. This display is consistent with their strategy. The trick will be if they can manufacture in volume, i.e. can they yield. I for one wish them well, but they like the rest of them, wouldn't be in the game if it weren't for huge gov't funding through the USDC. It'll will be some time before anybody knows if they, or Kopin, Planar, Candescent and the rest can stand on their own two feet.
