re: Marc Faber's “Economic Armageddon” call...

Marc Faber, Economic Armageddon In The U.S.

youtube.com

-----------

It's not just Marc Faber.

In case you missed it, here's a blockbuster interview with
ShadowStats.com’s John Williams, from December 3rd,
where he says the last two years of this economic crisis
have merely been a precursor to the coming "complete
economic collapse of the United States."

Williams predicts the following:

- the collapse of the U.S. economic system, as we know it.
- the complete collapse of the purchasing power of the U.S. Dollar.
- a political crisis leading to the complete political realignment of the United States.

This is a "must listen to" interview.

kingworldnews.com

And for those who may dismiss the warnings of Marc Faber,
Jimmy Rogers, Peter Schiff, John Williams, or Gerald Celente
because they view these people as "permabears," how about the
bond rating agency Moody's?

Here's what Moody's has to say...

"Moody’s warns of 'social unrest’ as sovereign debt spirals
Britain and other countries with fast-rising government debts."

By Edmund Conway
Published: 7:35PM GMT 15 Dec 2009

telegraph.co.uk

--------

And speaking of "social unrest," how about this from the
U.S. Army War College...

In their November 2008 report: “Known Unknowns: Unconventional
‘Strategic Shocks’ in Defense Strategy Development" -
The U.S. Army War College predicted...

“The military must be prepared for a “violent, strategic
(economic) dislocation inside the United States.”

“The widespread civil violence would force the defense
establishment to reorient priorities in extremis to defend
basic domestic order and human security.”

*(See the Pentagon's August 2009 request below, to reassign
400,000 National Guard Troops to permanent duty under
Pentagon, not State Governor control.)

“An American government and defense establishment lulled
into complacency by a long-secure domestic order would be
forced to rapidly divest some or most external security
commitments in order to address rapidly expanding human
insecurity at home.”

“Under the most extreme circumstances, this might include use
of military force against hostile groups inside the United
States (like anyone who protests the coming 2nd wave of
looting & hyper-taxation by the banksters).

Further, DoD [the Department of Defense] would be, by
necessity, an essential enabling hub for the continuity
of political authority in a multi-state or nationwide civil
conflict or disturbance.”

--------

And here’s what Obama’s Director Of National Intelligence,
Dennis C. Blair said...

"The global economic crisis ... already looms as the most
serious one in decades, if not in centuries ... Economic
crises increase the risk of regime-threatening instability
if they are prolonged for a one- or two-year period.”

“The crisis has been ongoing for over a year, and economists
are divided over whether and when we could hit bottom. Some
even fear that the recession could further deepen and reach
the level of the Great Depression. Of course, all of us recall
the dramatic political consequences wrought by the economic
turmoil of the 1920s and 1930s in Europe, the instability,
and high levels of violent extremism.”

--------

And Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, warned the financial crisis is “the highest national
security concern” for the U.S.

America's highest national security concern is the financial crisis.

Not Al Qaeda, not Iran, not Afghanistan or Pakistan, and not
“The War On Terror,” but the financial crisis.

Are Marc Faber, Jimmy Rogers, Peter Schiff, John Williams,
and Gerald Celente all pessimists, or justs realists?

It also gives some weight to Igor Panarin's prediction of -
“America’s Disintegration in 2010.” While Panarin's prediction
seems extreme today... Two years ago, so would have 18% real
unemployment, 1 in 8 Americans being on Food Stamps, a market
meltdown from DOW 14,300 to 6,500, and a bailout of America's
9 largest banks under the threat of martial law.

Panarin a former KGB agent, is now the dean of the Russian
foreign ministry's academy for diplomats. And he's predicting
the literal "disintegration" of the United States from
economic collapse, social unrest, and deep political and
moral divisions among the people.

America 'Disintegrates' in 2010

And the social unrest is not just the USA.

There have been riots in France, and violent demonstrations
from Greece to Jamaica.

Social unrest 'on the rise' in China

news.bbc.co.uk

Monday, 21 December 2009

Social unrest is on the rise in China, according to an
analysis by a Chinese think-tank.

The country is grappling with more acute social problems than
ever before, according to a report from the Chinese Academy
of Social Sciences.

Crime is also up, despite a nationwide campaign to shore up
social stability.

Although continued economic growth has provided a greater
number of jobs, China has seen more social conflict in
2009 than before.

The report on China's social trends sounds a stark warning
to policy makers.

The authors believe deep resentment has been accumulating over
the past few decades against unfairness and power abuses by
government officials at various levels.

They quote six large-scale popular protests - from taxi strikes
to unrest in central China in June - involving tens of thousands
of people.

This does not include the rioting in the north-western region
of Xinjiang, where nearly 200 people were killed in early July.

---------

And protests are breaking out in Ireland after the people
were promised economic relief for ratifying the Lisbon Treaty,
only to now face draconian cuts imposed by the IMF.

irishtimes.com

A senior Government Minister last night warned that the
International Monetary Fund (IMF) will be called in if the
Government does not reduce public expenditure by at least
30 per cent.

Minister for Health Mary Harney said yesterday that the State
is spending €500 million more each week than it is raising in
tax revenues. She was one of a number of Cabinet members who
yesterday publicly backed the stark assessment of the economy
made by Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan on Thursday night.

“If the Government hasn’t the capacity to do what’s needed,
then others will come in, like the IMF, and overnight they
will make decisions,” said Ms Harney.

“Then they will immediately start cutting expenditure by
maybe 30 or 40 per cent, and that is a fact.”

Ireland's deep budget cuts, an omen for a heavily indebted
United States?

DUBLIN -- Is this the ghost of America's future?

------------

Imagine an IMF imposed 30 to 40%% cut in government salaries
and pension payments in the US, along with massive tax hikes,
and rapidly rising food and energy prices.

Do you think that might cause civil unrest?

Still not a believer?

I know... DOW 10,400, that's your barometer of a recovery.

...even though 90% of the gains the DOW has made since 6500,
have been generated by after-hours gaming of S&P futures by
the PPT, Goldman & JP Morgan

If you want to drink the DOW prop-job Kool-Aid - have at it.
But the mainstream international press is openly comparing
the US's economic problems to those of Ireland and Greece.
And the G-20 is still calling for the end of the dollar.

And did you forget about the IMF's FSAP
(Financial Sector Assessment Program)Audit?

You may have, but the G-20 didn't.

I wrote about this a year, or so ago…

Message 25017279

A FSAP audit is basically a forensic x-ray level audit of
the entire US financial system.

Why do you think Bush bought a ranch the size of Texas
in Paraguay, and Cheney an exile retreat in Dubai?

Why do you think Paulson wanted immunity from prosecution?

For seven years Bush refused to allow the IMF to conduct its
assessment, and only allowed the audit on the condition that
the results of the audit, which was conducted in 2008, could
not be released until 2010.

Do you think it's a coincidence that the Russian analyst
predicted that 2010 was when the US would "disintegrate?"

spiegel.de

From 06/26/2008

“Officials with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) informed
Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke about a plan that would have been
unheard-of in the past: a general examination of the US
financial system. The IMF’s board of directors has ruled than
a so-called Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP) is to
be carried out in the United States. It is nothing less than
an X-ray of the entire US financial system.

As part of the assessment, the Fed, the Securities and
Exchange Commission (SEC), the major investment banks,
mortgage banks and hedge funds will be asked to hand over
confidential documents to the IMF team. They will be required
to answer the questions they are asked during interviews.

Their databases will be subjected to so-called stress tests —
worst-case scenarios designed to simulate the broader effects
of failures of other major financial institutions or a
continuing decline of the dollar.

Under its bylaws, the IMF is charged with the supervision of
the international monetary system. Roughly two-thirds of IMF
members — but never the United States — have already endured
this painful procedure.

For seven years, US President George W. Bush refused to allow
the IMF to conduct its assessment. Even now, he has only given
the IMF board his consent under one important condition. The
review can begin in Bush’s last year in office, but it may not
be completed until he has left the White House. This is bad
news for the Fed chairman.

When the final report on the risks of the US financial system
is released in 2010 — and it is likely to cause a stir
internationally — only one of the people in positions of
responsibility today will still be in office: Ben Bernanke.”

------------

And look at what else the IMF is doing with the Irish banks
in it's imposed austerity program.

Introducing a CASHLESS banking system...

National Irish Bank moves to cashless banking

irishtimes.com

The Irish Times - Tuesday, December 22, 2009

It might sound like a contradiction in terms, but for the
first time one of the main Irish consumer banks is moving
to cashless banking in all its branches.

National Irish Bank has written to thousands of its customers
this month informing them of a “new style of banking” in which
branches will not handle over-the-counter cash transactions.

The letter says branches will no longer handle cash
withdrawals and lodgements, night safe lodgements and foreign
currency cash. Branches will continue to lodge cheques, drafts
and postal orders and issue drafts.

Customers are advised to obtain cash from “ATMs nationwide”
or to seek “cash-back” on their debit cards.

A spokesman confirmed that cashless banking was being
introduced across the entire NIB branch network over the next
18 months, and had already been introduced successfully in a
number of branches.

---------

How about a forced currency devaluation with a banking holiday?

Do you think that might cause civil unrest?

Impossible you say?

Then what is the Pentagon preparing for?

In August, the Pentagon asked Congress for the authority to
call up 400,000 National Guard reservists and to place them
permanently under Pentagon control, for any "emergency"
declared by the President.

The Pentagon is pissing off a whole lot of State Governors,
I wonder what they're expecting?

"The Pentagon Wants Authority to Post 400,000 Military
Personnel in U.S. - What is NORTHCOM up to?"

August 12, 2009

progressive.org

---------

NorthCom’s Congressional fact sheet refers not just to a
“major disaster” but also to any “emergency” declared by
the President as defined in section 5122 of title 42, of U.S. Code.”

That section gives the President the sole discretion to
designate an event as an “emergency” or a “major disaster.”

Both are “in the determination of the President” alone.

For all practical purposes, the President of the United States
merely needs to issue a national emergency to seize literal,
dictatorial powers...

You've seen the food stamps numbers, you've seen the
unemployment numbers, and the 2nd wave of mortgage
resets, defaults and foreclosures is on the way, as is
the commercial real estate crisis.

If the Copenhagen Treaty is adopted, or if Cap & Trade is
passed, millions of additional jobs will be lost.

Obama has already publicly acknowledged that 2.2 existing jobs
will be lost for every 1 new green job created under Cap & Trade.

Something on the order of 27 individual states have
stated that their unemployment funds will be bankrupt
in 2010, and scores of states now face spending mandated
by accepting federal stimulus funds, that they have no
way of maintaining once federal assistance expires.

I warned a year ago that collapsing tax revenues and bankrupt
state and local budgets would be "the story" of 2010, and
it's already happening...

Mish just did a piece of how states like Calfornia, Hawaii,
Massachusets, and Nevada are now not just laying off and
cutting jobs, but are now being forced to cut pay and benefits.

This is just the beginning...

globaleconomicanalysis.blogspot.com

If the IMF imposes austerity programs on the US in 2010,
and/or, if the federal funds supplied to states for emergency
unemployment, food stamps, and welfare system payments are cut,
not to mention cutbacks in government jobs, salaries, and
perhaps even pension payments, what do you think is going to happen?

Where will the millions of jobless and now homeless go?

The FEMA camps are not imaginary. KBR received a 2 year,
$360 million dollar Federal contract in Jan. 2009 to build
FEMA Camps in all 10 FEMA regions.

Here's a copy of the bill...

govtrack.us

sfgate.com

"What kind of "new programs" require the construction and
refurbishment of detention facilities in nearly every state
of the union with the capacity to house millions of people?"

And the National Guard is now actively recruiting "internment
camp" guards...

infowars.com

And both the IMF and the US military are not just writing
and issuing reports to the press, they are actually issuing
warnings to state and local police agencies about the very
high risk of coming civil unrest due to an economic breakdown...

Arizona police say they are prepared as War College warns
military must prep for unrest; IMF warns of economic riots.

phoenix.bizjournals.com

A new report by the U.S. Army War College talks about the
possibility of Pentagon resources and troops being used should
the economic crisis lead to civil unrest, such as protests
against businesses and government or runs on beleaguered banks.

“Widespread civil violence inside the United States would
force the defense establishment to reorient priorities in
extremis to defend basic domestic order and human security,”
said the War College report.

----------

Let's not forget that the FDIC is broke.

And the Pension Benefit Guaranty Trust is broke, with scores
of both public and private pension funds hopelessly underfunded,
and with insanely, unrealistic future return assumptions.

Millions of Americans will never collect on their pensions.

27 States Unemployment funds are already broke.

And states like California, New York, Michigan, Arizona,
and Nevada, in addition to scores of cities and counties
nationwide, are all teetering on the edge of bankruptcy
and more will surely follow in 2010.

It's time to grow up people.

We can't get this one wrong.

And there's not any more time to wallow in apathy, or to
hide in denial. These bastards are preparing for one thing,
while telling you another.

As Gerald Celente said:

"This isn't a recovery, it's a cover up."

Freedom and liberty in the western democracies are now under
attack to the same degree as was London when it was bombed
for 57 consecutive nights by the Nazi's during World War II.

Only the sheeple don't get it, because instead of bombs
and bullets, they're using treaties, trade agreements, and
bum-rushed legislation that neither the people, or our elected
representatives are allowed to see, or read prior to passage.

They handed out $300 to $500 million dollar pork packages for
single votes on a health care bill that was written in secret
by lobbyists and committee lackeys, and once again, was forced
to a vote without the American people, or Congress getting a
chance to read and debate the final bill.

The will of the people, the Law Of the Land, and Democracy itself,
is just being bypassed...

Obama went to Copenhagen after the "Climategate" scandal,
and publicly committed the U.S. to this phony treaty, even
though he knows the science is fraudulent, and that it will
cost the U.S. 2.2 existing jobs, for every 1 new "green" job
created.

And if the Senate can't be bum-rushed into passing the Waxman-
Markey Cap & Trade bill, Obama will use the EPA to bypass both
the people and Congress to implement carbon taxes payable to
the international central bankers, and the privately owned
carbon exchanges of Goldman Sachs, Maurice Strong, Al Gore,
and Obama's Chicago Marxist-Mafia insiders.

Americans have just about had enough, and they know it.

They see the keyword traffic stats from the internet.

They see U.S. debt reaching unsustainable levels.

They see the rise of the Tea Party in the polls.

They see the G-20 nations dumping the dollar.

They see dissent building among the troops.

They see Obama's collapsing poll numbers.

They see the public outrage at Congress.

They see the unemployment numbers.

They see the food stamps numbers.

The see the foreclosure numbers.

And they're getting prepared.

They're calling up 400,000 National Guard troops and putting
them under Pentagon control.

They're rapidly building out the total information awareness
police state grid.

They're rapidly passing new surveillance laws.

They let Obama suspend Habeus Corpus and institute "Preventive Detention."

They're moving the Gitmo Gulags to U.S. soil.

They've extended the Patriot Act.

They've just granted IMMUNITY to Interpol (more on this later).

They're doing martial law drills with foreign troops on U.S. soil (NLE '09).

They're prepared.

Are you?

SOTB

PS: Regarding Obama's renewal of the Bush Patriot Act, then
going one big step further with his "Preventive Detention Act,"
now opening Gulag prisons on U.S. soil, and granting Interpol
immunity from the U.S. Constitution while operating on U.S. soil.

Here's some final food for thought.

If Naomi Wolf's "10 Steps To Fascism" didn't get your attention,
maybe this will...

"The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison
without formulating any charge known to the law, and
particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers,
is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation
of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist."

- Winston Churchill, Nov. 21, 1943
