It was probably a year or so later, the whole black panther thing, the SDS, the weathermen, and the democratic convention downtown... I don't remember what year it was, but it was there and so was I... I was going through some culture shock at the time... I had left the Army and returned to the States and to civilian life to go to school... when I left the States JFK was still alive and America was Camelot, and when I returned I couldn't recognize my own country, there was as much violence here as there was in Vietnam, coming home to a country that was itself in the midst of civil war, or so it seemed... it was bewildering and heartbreaking, and difficult to get my head wrapped around what was going on here, it was very confusing... GZ
