1970 Chateau Lynch Bages:

I was not tasting to taste and was distracted.

This was a perfect of balance of fruit and tannins. When I opened it I poured immediately. The first sip seemed to have some tannins. Also present were enough fruit to cover the tannins. It is over the hill and it was my last bottle.

Lots of sediment. Cork came out easily with an Ah So. Color showed some lightness around the edges. The signs of a wine well over the hill were not present.

The most remarkable nose was about two hours after opening it. I smelled definite plums. There were telltale oriental spices as well. It had many light but interesting odors which I did not record.

If it had not been well cellared for nearly forty years it would have been long gone. Enjoyable. 84 points.
