Kings winger Alexander Frolov gathers the puck before beating a sprawled-out Wild goalkeeper Niklas Backstrom in the first period Thursday as the Kings beat Minnesota 5-2.
Frolov had perhaps his best game of the season, scoring two goals and helping L.A. dominate most of the game.

Coach Terry Murray said he was especially pleased with Frolov. "Not just the results, either," Murray said. "He was moving his feet, good energy in his legs. He was on top of the puck. He was holding on and making plays. That's the kind of player he can be for us and that's what we need from him."

They ended a four-game losing streak and reach the halfway point of the season with a 23-15-3 record for 49 points.
