A question for the knowledgeable: In researching, i.e., fantasizing, about high end wines, I noticed the prices of some such wines, e.g., 1961 Latour Pauillacs, will go for $6k or so [1961 Latour Paulliac at Aabalat sells for $6278]. The 1500 ml bottle of the same wine will not sell for exactly twice the price, but for $10K or so. At Aabalat, it can be had for $10,671. Same wine, twice the amount. I should think the 1500 ml bottle would go for $12K or the 750 ml would go for $5K. aabalat.com Is there a reason for this substantial difference?
