with 24 road games out of the way, that leaves Kings with a very favorable 24 HOME games the rest of the way.
At the pace the team is going we would finish with 99 points plus [I crunched the numbers fwiw], but realistically we have a REAL shot at more.
So without being wildly optimistic it is easy to envision 101 points at the end of the season.
One of the most important keys to success will be our top line. Will Kopitar pick up the pace? Also will we stay away from more injuries to our top players.
So many things have to come together, but considering the adverse [even brutal] schedule in the first half and the number of injuries suffered, the guys certainly came through with Royal colors flying. [Yikes! Williams won't be back until late March. That hurts.]
The Schedule….I like it !!
32 games vs. West teams, including
5 vs. Anaheim 4 vs. Colorado 3 vs. Detroit 3 vs. San Jose 3 vs. Dallas 3 vs. Nashville 2 vs. Chicago 2 vs. Columbus 2 vs. Edmonton 2 vs. St. Louis 1 vs. Phoenix 1 vs. Minnesota 1 vs. Vancouver 0 vs. Calgary
of the games vs. the East, only three are on the road [Toronto, Boston, New Jersey] while six are home games [N.Y. Islanders, Montreal, N.Y. Rangers, Boston, Buffalo, Washington]
