Didn't know that either one of them was this expensive.

CT angiography is great, but maybe not in clearly "high probability" situations. Recall that in cases when something acute is discovered on CTA, the person will still need an emergency Cath - in order to correct the problem. Important minutes would be lost. Radiation exposure from CTA is much higher than from having a Cath, and those doses would add up. Moreover, the risk from additional doses of IV contrast is also a big factor, if one is to undergo both procedures.
