I have to look no further than the Medicare Prescription drug plan to find the same kind of chicanery.

Well, it is a tough spot for me to defend the passage of legislation I opposed.

But nearly 1/4 of the senators voting for it were Democrats, so it was bi-partisan.

The CBO had vastly OVERSTATED the cost of the program, yet the Rs took no action to carve out provisions for inclusion in other legislation, the president didn't call the CBO head on the carpet, the CBO didn't come back the next day and say, "Oh, we screwed it up by 50%", and there was a full and open debate before the passage (although I think it was done late at night, it was not in an effort to hide it from the public as in the health care reform bill).

And, it was nowhere near the scope of health care reform. Not even a significant fraction.

So, the example you have given is in NO WAY representative of the kind of sleezy tactics that the Ds have used on health care reform.

What else do you have?
