Yes, IBM IGN does use x2 and IBM has licensed x2, but the PCs use Flex! I have also bought five HPs and all have flex! Again give me a model number or advertisment that shows the contrary! Incidentally most PB machines ship V.34 ( from guess who) ROK does $1.2B in modems ( as per their annual report) and USRX does $1.3B. If you have different numbers with source data I would be happy to reexamine the data Why does your statements not reflect in ROKs financials while the losses USRX incurred are clearly stated in the COMS 10Q? No Flex vendor has lost the amount of money USRX did in April and May. If someone lets say Ascend has pulled that trick you would be apoplectic with rage! Only way for COMS to significantly rise is for them to dump the modem business ( yep ackoweledge defeat on x2) and use the money to compete against Cisco just like PMCS did or in another context National did. How you feel about this statement will let you know whether you want COMS to be the king of modems at a PE of 10 or you want COMS to be ( PE multiple) on par with Cisco or ( heavens!) Ascend. Lets see ROK results due out tommorow? Also lets adjourn this discussion till say mid 98 when there may be more data on the COMS side or the ROK side. Happy Investing
