speaking of systemic this and rule of law that, just in in-tray

player 1: Small wonder so much of the rest of the world hates the USA.These hired mercenaries who admitted to killing innocent civilians in Iraq now look to face no punishment. Incredible. Note the reaction by Iraqis, that a trial needed to be held in Iraq because the US system of justice can't be trusted.Sad but true.Stark evidence of a once great empire in secular decline.

Judge throws out Blackwater indictments

A federal judge Thursday threw out charges against five Blackwater Worldwide Security guards accused of killing 14 people in a 2007 shooting in downtown Baghdad.

player 2: I heard that in the interest of justice, the US government is planning on putting those held indefinitely in Guantanamo in front of the same judge...... yeah right.

player 3: Actually, Judge Urbina previously ruled that some of the Guantanamo prisoners be released, so he's not totally "in the bag" for the Feds.

Urbina presided over a number of habeas corpus petitions submitted on behalf of prisoners at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. In October 2008, he ordered the release of a small group of Uighur detainees from Guantanamo into the United States because they are no longer regarded as enemy combatants.

player 2: That is my sentiments. Let this judge have a go at all those at Guantanamo so they can be set free or give them a trial.

Anyway, as GS is taking all the heat, the one that really suckered taxpayers is Jamie Dimon.

So Ken Lewis paid a fortune for Countrywide, probably started his exit. Dimon not only paid next to nothing for WaMu, by the time the dust settles, he is probably getting paid to take it.

How is it possible that he can sit on the Board of the NY Fed and not be a conflict of interest.

player 1: The system was designed in 1913 precisely to foster this conflict of interest. The Federal Reserve is no more 'federal' than Federal Express. It is a legal private banking cartel that has managed to partner with the government and gain the monopoly right to determine all monetary policy.

player tj: judge urbina's release order for the uighurs proves beyond any conceivable shadow of oubt that he is "in the bag" for the Feds.
