had my best year (better than 08, which was my previous best year), because i took advantage of the huge moves in may and june. i also developed considerably as a trader, and learned when not to trade aggressively. in the past, i'd probably have given back a bunch of my gains in the choppy period; last year, i just didn't trade in certain times / days where i didn't have what i felt to be an edge. i don't know what's coming, i can't envision a transaction tax but if one happened, i'd have to move to trading non transaction-taxed markets, wherever those would be. i'm sure i wouldn't be the only one. took time off as well, last day of trading was the 17th, and am all psyched to trade again on monday. may intraday volatility return, and good trading...
