I just finished my 13th year trading. Funny to think back to this thread in the late 90's and all the activity (posts) generated. I continue to love what I do and the freedom it allows.
=> Congrats on the end of your 13th year. As you and I both know, few survive as long as we have been fortunate enough to last (a review of recent activity in this thread bears out this fact, as well).
It's been over 10 years since this thread was created, and we had quite the following and quite the camaraderie around here in the early years. Hard to remember how many "Daytrading Fundamentals" gatherings we had at the Trader's Expo conventions. Seems like it was at least five of them, and I remember some of the early ones had 25+ attendees, if I'm not mistaken.
I'd be curious to know how many of the traders from this thread in 1999-2000, were still actively trading in 2007-2009. Almost certainly less than 10%. I see TFF (aka Irby/TAFKAI/and others, as I recall his various names over the years) is still actively posting and presumably trading. I still enjoy his thread and am glad he continues to post for everyone's benefit.
I know that LPS5 is doing well, although I last talked with him 1 1/2 years ago. Last I heard, Oz is still trading, but that is 3+ year old information. Brandon, Vadym and Alan, I believe are still in the industry in similar roles as the past.
I haven't talked to, or heard about, Steve (Palo Alto Trader) in many years, hopefully he's still doing well. KM hasn't posted here on ET in 3 1/2 years, I hope she's doing well also. I still see Ken Adams and Leland over on ET, so they are still in the biz. I'm sure I've missed half or more of the key thread members (e.g. Keith/Dan/Carl/TLC/etc/etc) from 'back in the day'. I'd sure like to hear an update from everyone if they care to chime in.
