i am not an expert...
but i believe i have reached a point at which i know what i like (which it is what really matters, not only in wine, but just about everything in life)
so.... as to...
I don't know if this is still in production or worth obtaining if you are an expert.
absolutely i am interested....
for three reasons:
1.- it will allow me to appreciate the much coveted ... young (mostly) single grape (cabernet sauvingnon mostly) california wines... otherwise known to me as very ascetic, chewed green leaves tasting, young wine, which is marketed because investors who have plunged enormous amounts of money onto california wineries, have the baby-boomers mentality of instant gratification. hence an entire generation of americans have been forced to drink, instructed to, and actually appreciate and hurrah, wine that under normal circumstances would be deemed to be far too young to drink.(*)
2.- down the line it has to be a collector's item. 3.- given its chemistry based influence... it may actually work which becomes important given the fact that there are many NEW WORLD wine regions which would actually benefit from.....
so yes, please tell me where you got it.... i would be interested in one....
(*) notice i did not say it was bad wine *which it is not* what it is is.... given the origin and structure of the wines in question.... misunderstood by its producers... (they want a fast return of their investment, and their marketeers, who believe that INSTANT GRATIFICATION is the answer... )
disclosure: i have not have access to the boutique wineries from california, who a few of them actually produce great wine regardless of the above mentioned characteristics....
p.s. thank you for the research !
which.... btw... that is the only thing i am an expert at.... experiencing wine... -g now, describing it.... that is another story. i just know what i like... :) |
