I have no regrets paying police and fire high wages while they are working. The pensions kick in after 20 years or so with 2/3 pay and benefits. I suggest they have 401K defined contribution plans like the rest of us sheep. wg PS - I presume you have no term life insurance either because you have no plans to die. I, however, see fire trucks on the roads every day. It's best to pay to save your neighbor's house before the hot embers blow your way.
