KyrosL,I do agree with you and I was trying to make this point on SI. There is nothing wrong to hold some investments in Gold but one must also cope with the storage expenses and insurance as some day you may go to your beloved bank safe and be surprised that some on else walked out the door with YOUR GOLD <GGG>

The only reason to justify gold investment and not any other rare metal (lithium beryllium, samarium lanthanum cerium erbium neodymium ytterbium etc.,) for example is the popularity of gold and the perception by the masses that gold is money, not to mention other commodities that are bulkier than gold.

,,,, and this is only a partial list of metals one can invest and not be afraid of being "robbed" if by robber or state (via taxes or pure legal confiscation) as the elements are not as shiny and recognizable as Gold or silver for example
